Konpeito is confetti star-shaped rock sugar candy. These tiny colorful candies were first introduced to Japan by the Portuguese in the 15th century and were stored in glass bottles as a gift offered to one of the leading warlords. Konpeito are carefully handcrafted with traditional methods and it has simple sweetness and crunchy texture. Now, Konpeito candies are used for celebrations and are given as offerings in shrines. Let's experience Japan's luxurious culture through these colorful candies!
Japanese candy for tea, yes please! These are great for tea and I am honestly questioning my sanity because I should have been buying these years ago. It gives just the right amount of sweetness to tea without the heaviness of accidentally spilling extra table sugar out of that ridiculous spoon I'm using. I can just plop in 2 of these and its done!I don't drink sugar in my coffee but wanted to try this in it just to see what would happen and it was fine. Too sugary for me in the coffee but in the Tea, YES!Excellent buy, great pricing and came sufficiently packaged with not issues.
Daughter loves these and they are a good price for the quantity you get
I have bought this brand twice, the color taste and texture are consistently vibrant and tasty! These are a bit expensive, but so much fun to have around for a quick desk snack. They have the texture of rock candy, very good quality
A bit expensive, but understandably so because these are large and fully formed. It is a hefty bag. Other brands might add flavoring to match the colors, but they also tend to be small and deformed. I love these as a treat: just a small bite of sugar for when I'm tired or with my tea.
This konpeito was larger than I am used to, and totally worth it. I've had the ones that are about 1/2 cm diameter, and these are closer to a full cm diameter. Amazing.
