【First Harvest Tea】 In Japan, tea made from the first picked buds of the year are called "shincha." Tea leaves picked from late April to early May are soft, have a refreshing fragrance, and contain a lot of theanine, giving them a rich flavor.

【Uji, Kyoto Japan - The Home Of Matcha】 Uji, Kyoto is one of the leading tea growing areas in Japan, and Uji tea is the highest quality brand of Japanese tea.

【Superior Tea Varieties】 The tea varieties are a blend of two popular varieties, "Okumidori" and "Yabukita." Okumidori is a deep green tea with a strong sweetness and little bitterness. Yabukita is a tea with a good balance of sweetness, umami, and bitterness. The perfect blend of these two varieties produces a richly flavored matcha.

Qualified Tea Selection

The tea master visually sorts the tea leaves, then adds hot water and checks the aroma, taste and the color of tea. The color of the tea leaves when soaked in hot water at time of inspection determines the color when crushed. As a key point of matcha making, the color of the tea leaves is essential.

FAQs

Yes. Our matcha is 100% produced in Japan and carefully crafted in Uji, Kyoto, one of the most renowned matcha-producing regions in the world. We work closely with experienced Japanese tea producers to ensure authenticity, quality, and traceability.

Yes. This matcha is made from carefully selected first harvest tea leaves, which are prized for their vibrant green color, rich umami, natural sweetness, and smooth taste. First harvest leaves are considered the highest quality and are commonly used for premium ceremonial-grade matcha.

Absolutely. While this matcha is excellent for traditional preparation, it also works beautifully in matcha lattes. Its rich umami and natural sweetness pair well with milk, oat milk, almond milk, and other plant-based alternatives.

Matcha naturally contains caffeine. A typical serving (approximately 2g of matcha powder) contains around 60–70mg of caffeine, depending on the harvest and preparation method. Unlike coffee, matcha also contains L-theanine, which helps promote a calm and sustained sense of focus.

To preserve freshness, color, and aroma, seal the package tightly after each use and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. For the best flavor experience, we recommend consuming matcha within 1–2 months after opening.

Uji, Kyoto is widely regarded as the birthplace of Japanese matcha culture and has been producing exceptional tea for centuries. The region's climate, fertile soil, and traditional cultivation methods create matcha known for its vibrant color, rich umami, smooth texture, and refined aroma. Uji matcha is highly respected by tea enthusiasts around the world for its quality and heritage.
