Enjoy our popular Ceremonial Stone-Ground Matcha, TAMAKAZURA.
This Ceremonial Grade Matcha is traditionally stone-ground using a traditional stone mill. Unlike modern grinding methods, traditional stone grinding is a slow process that carefully produces a fine, smooth matcha powder while preserving the delicate character of the tea.
The name TAMAKAZURA (玉鬘) comes from The Tale of Genji, one of Japan's most famous classical works. Tamakazura is a character in the story, and her name is often translated as “The Jeweled Chaplet” or “A Lovely Garland,” giving this matcha a connection to Japan's rich literary and cultural history.
Originally available at our physical store in Uji, TAMAKAZURA is now available online for customers to enjoy around the world. Whether you are discovering it for the first time or looking to repurchase the matcha you enjoyed during your time in Uji, enjoy this well-balanced Ceremonial Grade Matcha.
