I had heard of natto, and frankly, it sounded disgusting, but I was happy to have the opportunity to try this blend of natto and koji. I�fve used it to top rice (as suggested) and mixed it into mayonnaise for dipping french fries. I really enjoy the rich umami flavor and look forward to trying it in more dishes. Yum!

This natto and koji mix has a bold fermented flavor that�fs definitely an acquired taste. I found it surprisingly fruity and a bit too intense for my palate, even though I usually enjoy fermented foods. While it�fs convenient and packed with umami, I probably won�ft reach for it again. This Japanese Natto paste is packed well and seems to be of high quality with a rich, strong flavor. It actually wasnt quite as overwhelming as I expected, and a little more subtle. It wasn't too salty but has plenty of MSG flavor. This goes great with rice. It definitely looks a little unusual in the pouch, though, so it did take a little courage to try it as I am not always the most culinarily adventurous person. It was very easy to use, simply squirt an amount of the thickish paste from the pouch and stir in.

You can tell there�fs care in how it�fs made. It�fs not overly processed, it tastes fresh, and it comes from Japan, which gives me a certain trust in quality. Plus, you only need a little at a time, so it stretches further than I expected. Compared to buying mediocre side dishes or pre-made meals, this is a far better investment?healthier, tastier, and more satisfying.

One thing I found unexpectedly delightful was mixing this with mayonnaise to make a dipping sauce for raw veggie sticks. It was savory, a bit tangy, and shockingly addictive. I also spread it on toast, topped it with cheese, and broiled it for an umami-packed snack?it paired surprisingly well with a cold beer. This condiment isn�ft just for rice; it's a kitchen wildcard. I am happy with the product. It is a bit salty, but I am not eating the whole bag at one time. The only thing I would change is, for my usage, I think it would be better if it was a homogeneous paste without the lumpy beans.I am not sure of the health benefits of koji but I know natto is beneficial
