Dorayaki is a Traditional Japanese Confection
The name "dorayaki" is believed to be derived from the Japanese word "dora," meaning gong, due to the dessert's resemblance to a gong used in traditional Japanese music.
Dorayaki (snack pies) is not only appreciated for its cute looking but also for its delightful combination of textures and flavors – the soft and slightly chewy pancakes embracing the sweet and velvety filling.

On time. No breakage. Perfect size! Soft, not crunchy. If you want a tasty unique treat, these mini bean sandwichstyle pancake cookies are for you. Great with an afternoon tea. My in-laws were smackin' their lips. Less sweet more treat. Just right!Great homework incentives. Less sweet more treat. Delicious.
These are essentially small stuffed pancakes but not American. The pancake itself reminds me of Asian pound cakes. It is still soft but firm fluff and has a stronger egg base. It's stuffed with with some matcha powder mixed with a sweet bean paste. The result is a tasty sweet dessert. The bean gives the filling a sweetness and pasty texture with the hints of matcha flavoring that blends with the egg pancake when you bit into it.It is a big expensive though. 8 small individual wrapped bites for nearly $2 each. It's good but not something I'd want to splurge on often.
These matcha dorayaki are essentially matcha cream filled pancake cakes. They're not too sweet and not too bland but go well with tea or as a snack. Each one is individually wrapped and super soft. I love matcha flavour so these got gobbled right up. :)If you like the texture of pancakes but also like matcha flavour, these are super yummy and I recommend them!
The pancakes are all individually wrapped. They seemed to be fresh. They were soft with creamy filling. They do taste good, although they were much sweeter than any other Japanese sweets I tried. It is unusualIt is a product of Japan.
