The matcha and agar flavors in this product are precisely what you would anticipate. If you enjoy such flavors, the soft cubes are simple to chew, gelatinous, and delicious. The bag contains thirty pieces, each of which is individually wrapped. Since the components don't contain any sticky rice product, these aren't real mochi. Since the texture is not precisely like genuine mochi, they are really more mochi-like since they contain agar to mimic the chewy texture. It has a wonderful gelatinous consistency. Despite having a high sugar content, this candy is a good snack.
This is a pretty authentic tasting snack. It's sweet at first but then you get more of the matcha flavor. The matcha flavor is a little fishy to me and that can be a little unpleasant for some. But that is pretty in line with some actual matcha I've had so it's a matter of tastes.
This matcha candy is not very sweet and has a very faint flavor. Good for someone looking for a snack or treat, but doesn't want to eat too much sugar.
If you're typically a fan of Japanese warabi mochi and sweet you'll like these. I generally don't like things that are too sweet, but I felt like these mochi candy were way too sweet for my liking. They have a gummy and chewy texture with a slightly matcha covered coating. Each one is individually wrapped so you can put some in your pocket and take on the go. Again if you have a low sweets tolerance, I'd stay away.
All that being said, it turns out I don't like matcha, and my friend who DOES like said this tasted perfect, so I can't knock it on taste. Texture is great, it's sweet, and it tastes right. If you actually LIKE matcha (unlike me, apparently) AND you like gummy candy, you'll love this.
