I used to use the instant matcha latte powders from Japan and they tasted awesome. Now I'm just starting out making my own from scratch and already with this matcha powder, I'm achieving a really good flavour and texture. I'm very impressed with this and my daughter is also using it in her baking and loves it.

I have tried a few matcha powders and this YAMASAN KYOTO UJI Barista Grade Matcha really stands out. The taste is smooth, slightly creamy and not too bitter, which makes it perfect for lattes or blending into smoothies. You can tell it’s high quality from the vibrant green color and fresh aroma. I also love that it’s vegan and sugar-free, so I can enjoy it guilt-free every day.
Great value for an authentic product straight from Uji, Japan. It’s now a staple in my morning routine!

I tried the ceremonial grade version of this matcha from Yamasan Kyoto Uji and found it very easy to drink on its own. But I didn't want to use ceremonial grade matcha for my smoothies, so I got this barista grade version. The company has delivered on great quality matcha powder in the past and this barista grade powder is no different. I can mix this into my smoothies for the benefits of matcha and save my ceremonial grade for drinking on its own.

The colour is not as bright as the ceremonial grade, which was expected, but the consistency is still fine enough that it mixes easily with smoothies and even lattes. It's a reasonable price for the 100g of matcha you get.

I'm not mega experienced with matcha, to be transparent. I've never had it completely on its own before with just hot water. I made it up (colour is a little off-putting if I guess you don't usually drink this, smell is a bit like grass. Then I took a sip, and I exclaimed, quite literally, 'It's green tea!' Shows my ignorance to be honest, but I couldn't differentiate between this and buying green tea. Tasted as good as the best green tea I have had and loved the convenience of the powder. The recommendation is for half a teaspoon of the powder and I found that was sufficient for a mug. It would last quite some time.
